Welcome to AnaVahi. This is where I share my photos, stories and music. Hope you like it!
Trail running is one of our favourite things in the whole world :-) Why? Because we get to discover the beauty of nature, make memories together and experience unique places (that we otherwise would have just driven by or taken for granted). We hope you enjoy our memories!
The final day of the Southern Cross trail run was a fitting conclusion to this three day celebration of the beauty of the garden route. There were beach scrambling, boardwalks next to the Touwsriver, railway tracks, magical forest sections, a pontoon across the Touwsriver and of course the infamous floating bridge. We loved every minute of it :-)
Day 2 of the Southern Cross Trail Run immersed us in the majestic Knysna forests. Ancient Yellowwood trees, pristine streams and hidden spots where one would almost expect a hobbit to bounce out from behind a tree.
The Southern Cross Trail run claims to be the most diverse trail run in South Africa and they might have a point. Day one took us deep into the magnificent Outeniqua Mountains. It was wet, it was muddy but it was magical :-)
Beach running, forest single track, epic river crossings on pontoons and floating bridges and stunning garden route scenery! The story of the 2017 SOX day 3 :-)
The story of day 2 of our second stage race, the Berg and Beach trail run :-)
The story of day 1 of our second stage race, the Berg and Beach trail run :-)
This is the story of our longest, and with a 1259m elevation gain, certainly our most taxing run to date... the Funky Fynbos 30km Trail run. The spectacular Fynbos, Forest and Sea views made every drop of sweat and aching muscle worthwhile. The cherry on the top was the magical waterfall in the Witvoetskloof forest, but there were many unforgetable moments...
